Intuition: A Skill worth building

Have you ever had a moment where you knew something intuitively?

You don’t know how you knew, but you just knew it.

Did you know you can learn to have more of those moments?

Intuition is just like a muscle - there are things that can be done intentionally to build up that muscle.

When we are children we are aware of so much more information in the world, we just don’t know how to make sense of it. Frequently when we have an intuitive knowing, it gets shut down, or we get told we don’t know what we’re talking about. And so we learn to ignore those little thoughts, whispers, nudges, and gut feelings in favor of listening to the big people around us who must know more than we do.

Even if you’ve forgotten how to hear your intuition, it’s possible to relearn the skill. It just takes patience, and practice to bring it back.

My intuition has saved me from hitting a tractor trailer parked in a lane around a blind curve. Ignoring it has gotten me a cracked windshield from a rock. 🤦‍♀️ It’s worth taking the time to learn more about your intuition.

It can help you navigate daily life (and save you from a cracked windshield!). Knowing your intuition can help you connect with your pets even more easily and understand what they need moment to moment. It can help make decisions easier, and takes some of the guesswork out of big and small choices.

The number one recommendation I have for learning more about your intuition is having some sort of meditation practice. Learning to observe your thoughts objectively, and having a tool that helps to quiet the mind are the fastest ways to build up that intuitive muscle so that it’s there when you need it.
